Things to Do in Sabroom

A controlled weekly market on the India–Bangladesh boundary where approved vendors and visitors from nearby communities trade local goods. It is not an ordinary duty-free market open automatically to every tourist. Carry identification and confirm visitor eligibility and opening status with the Sabroom administration before setting out. Open Tue 10AM–3:30PM according to the district administration; confirm before travelling.

The river forms the international boundary between India and Bangladesh. Public roads and permitted riverside areas provide views across the water toward Ramgarh. Remain outside fenced or restricted border areas and follow instructions from security personnel. Open Daylight hours.

A 1.9-km road bridge connecting Sabroom with Ramgarh in Bangladesh. It was inaugurated in 2021 as part of plans to improve access between northeastern India and the Chattogram region. The bridge and land port are working security and customs installations, not unrestricted sightseeing areas. Do not attempt to enter the bridge without authorization. Open Access is controlled.

The southern terminus of Tripura's railway system. The small modern station is of interest to railway enthusiasts and marks the end of the broad-gauge line from Agartala. A landscaped nature park developed around a large lake between low wooded hills. Attractions have included walking paths, bridges, a nature-interpretation centre, boating and cottages. A small landscaped eco-park near the international-border region and the Ludhua tea-growing area. It contains paths, greenery, bridges and places for a quiet family outing. Carry identification because security checks may occur in the wider border zone. Open 8AM–5PM; closed Fri.

A Buddhist shrine and monastery serving the Mog community and pilgrims from across Tripura. A major annual fair is usually held around March or April. Dress respectfully, remove shoes where required and ask before photographing worshippers. Open Daylight hours; avoid disrupting worship.
