Satpura is one of the few reserves offering night safaris on the buffer zone; these and walking safaris have very limited daily slots, so reserve them in advance.

Satpura Tiger Reserve borders the Pachmarhi hill station; many visitors combine a wildlife safari here with a couple of days at Pachmarhi's viewpoints and waterfalls.

Park closes for monsoon

Core safari zones close from July to September for the breeding season; the best sightings are typically March to May near waterholes.
