Singrauli is a city in Singrauli district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh and Commissionaire of Rewa. It lies about 26 kilometres (16 mi) from the district headquarters of Waidhan.
State: Madhya Pradesh
Ideal Duration: 2-3 Days
October, November, December, February, March
Singrauli is primarily known as a major coal-mining and power-generation region, with the large Rihand Dam reservoir, ancient Mada rock-cut caves, and the lesser-visited Sanjay-Dubri Tiger Reserve as its notable sights.
Singrauli has its own railway station, but the nearest major airport is Varanasi, roughly 230 km and a 4-5 hour drive away.
Singrauli is not a typical senior-friendly leisure destination — it functions more as an industrial and administrative town with a few scattered natural and historic sights, so it is better suited to travelers with a specific interest rather than a general group tour stop.
Late September through March offers the most comfortable weather for visiting the dam, caves, and any wildlife excursions.
