Idamalayar Dam
Idamalayar Dam is a multipurpose concrete gravity dam located at Ennakkal between Ayyampuzha and Bhoothathankettu in Ernakulam district of Kerala on the Idamalayar, a tributary of the Periyar River in Kerala, South India.
Bhoothathankettu Dam and Reservoir
A scenic dam built across the Periyar River, surrounded by dense forests and hills. The name means "monster fort," and the area offers boating, picnic spots, and a peaceful nature walk along the riverbank. Open 9 AM - 5 PM (all days). Entry:

Thattekad Bird Sanctuary
A renowned tropical evergreen forest sanctuary, home to over 300 bird species including the rare Malabar grey hornbill and Sri Lanka frogmouth. Best visited early morning for birdwatching along the nature trails. Open 7 AM - 5 PM (closed on Tuesdays). Entry: ₹50 for Indian adults, ₹250 for foreign nationals (plus ₹25 for still camera)
