Connemara Market

Connemara market is situated at Palayam junction in Thiruvananthapuram city, in the state of Kerala, India. The recently renovated Market has merged with the Saphalyam Complex adjacent to it. The Palayam Market was established during 1857, when Sri Uthradom Thirunal was the Maharja of Travancore mainly to supply day to day essential commodities to the Army. The Arched Gate of the Market was built subsequently and was inaugurated by Sir Robert Bourke, 1st Baron Connemara, Governor of Madras Presidency, when he visited Thiruvananthapuram during 1888. In his honour, the market was then named as "Connemara Market".

Mateer Memorial Church

CSI Mateer Memorial Cathedral is a Protestant church located in Thiruvananthapuram, India. The present church building was dedicated on 1 December 1906 by the London Missionary Society (LMS) in memory of Rev. It was constructed before the formation of the South India United Church (SIUC) in 1908. Following the formation of the Church of South India (CSI) on 27 September 1947, through the union of the SIUC with the Anglican and Methodist Churches in South India, the church became part of the CSI. CSI Mateer Memorial Cathedral is a Protestant church located in Thiruvananthapuram, India.

Pazhaya Sreekanteswaram Temple

Pazhaya Sreekanteswaram Temple or Old Sreekanteswaram Temple, located at Puthenchantha in Thiruvananthapuram, is an ancient Shiva & Vishnu temple in Kerala. According to historian Elamkulam Kunjan Pillai, the temple has existed since at least 1000 AD. This temple is the original abode of the Lord of the new Sreekanteswaram Mahadeva Temple. The new temple is situated just outside the "North Fort" in Thiruvananthapuram. Sasibhooshan, the old temple was on the route taken by the King of Travancore and his retinue in connection with the Pallivetta of the Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple.

Attukal Temple

The Attukal Bhagavathy Temple is a Hindu shrine located at Attukal in Kerala, India. It is situated near the heart of the city, two kilometres away from the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, East Fort, in Thiruvananthapuram. The goddess of the temple is identified with Bhadrakali, mounted over a vetala. She is also identified with Kannagi, the heroine of Ilango Adigal's epic Cilappatikaram. The temple is renowned for the annual Attukal Pongal festival, in which over three million women participate.

Keralam - Museum of History and Heritage

Keralam – Museum of History and Heritage, located at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India is a museum that aims to document the history and heritage of Kerala that spans over 3000 years as per available prehistorical and historical evidence. It is a joint venture of Kerala Tourism and the Kerala State Department of Archaeology. The museum is placed within the Park View mansion, near the famous Napier Museum and Thiruvananthapuram Zoo. In order to enable effective content delivery and user interaction, the museum employs modern techniques such as touchscreen terminals to illustrate the exhibits and multimedia systems to render documentary videos.

Diocese of South Kerala of the Church of South India

South Kerala Diocese is a diocese of the Church of South India which consists of CSI churches in Trivandrum and Kollam districts of Kerala. It is one of the biggest dioceses in the Church of South India, a United Protestant denomination.The diocese was constituted on 2 June 1959. Anglican diocese established in 1879, later becoming part of the Church of South India (CSI). The South Travancore Diocese was bifurcated into the Kanyakumari Diocese and the South Kerala Diocese in 1959, Arnold Legg who was the Bishop of South Travancore Diocese since 1937, continued to serve as the Bishop of South Kerala Diocese.

Trivandrum Observatory

The Trivandrum Observatory or Thiruvananthapuram Astronomical Observatory is a scientific and astronomical observation station that was established by the Raja of Travancore Swathi Thirunal Rama Varma in 1836–37. Dr. Raja Rama Varma Rohani Thirunal was an established astronomer and member of the British and Canadian Astronomical Societies and a cousin of Raja Swathi Thirunal. He was also the Raja of Mavelikara Palace, a branch of the Travancore Royal family. The Raja wrote to the British Resident, Colonel James Stuart Fraser, an amateur scientist proposing the establishment of an astronomical observatory.

Kanakakkunnu Palace

Kanakakkunnu Palace is situated in Thiruvananthapuram near the Napier museum, India. It served as an official residence for Sir C.P. Ramaswami Iyer during his dewanship, in addition to Bhakti Vilas and Padma Vilas. It is India's first digital garden, created by Akhilesh S. Gangaprasad, University of Kerala, Department of Botany.
