Day 1

Dehradun to Mukteshwar

Our driver picks you up from your hotel or home in Dehradun in the morning. Drive from Dehradun to Mukteshwar (about 346 km, 7 hrs). Check in at your hotel in Mukteshwar. The road climbs from Kathgodam past Bhowali and through orchards of apple, plum and apricot. Reach Mukteshwar by afternoon, visit the Mukteshwar Dham temple and walk to Chauli ki Jali, the rock ledge on the cliff edge, for sunset. On a clear morning the snow peaks from Trishul to Nanda Devi are in full view from here. Overnight stay in Mukteshwar.

Day 2

Mukteshwar to Almora

Today's travel: from Mukteshwar to Almora (about 43 km, 1 hr 15 min). Drive to Almora, about two and a half hours away. In the afternoon, visit the Kasar Devi temple on Crank's Ridge, where Swami Vivekananda meditated, and stay for sunset at Bright End Corner. Walk the old Lala Bazaar with its stone-paved lanes and carved wooden houses, and try the local bal mithai and singori. Overnight stay in Almora.

Day 3

Jageshwar Dham

Drive to Jageshwar, about an hour and a half away, through deodar forest along the Jataganga stream. The main complex has over a hundred stone temples from the 7th to the 12th centuries, and the Jageshwar temple is counted by many as a Jyotirlinga. On the way back, stop at the Chitai Golu Devta temple, where devotees hang bells and written petitions. Overnight stay in Almora.

Drive from Almora to Dehradun (about 349 km, 7 hrs), and drop at your hotel, home or the railway station in Dehradun. The tour ends here.
