Our driver picks you up from your hotel or home in Coimbatore in the morning. Drive from Coimbatore to Mettupalayam (about 44 km, 1 hr) and from Mettupalayam to Coonoor (about 44 km, 1 hr). Check in at your hotel in Coonoor. Board the blue-and-cream Nilgiri Mountain Railway at Mettupalayam in the morning (our cab carries your bags up by road). The little train climbs through tunnels and over viaducts on its rack track, past Hillgrove and Runneymede, to Coonoor. Settle into your room in the tea country, walk in Sim's Park in the afternoon, and go to Lamb's Rock to watch the sun set over the plains. Overnight stay in Coonoor.

Drive through the tea gardens to Dolphin's Nose, a rock that juts out over a deep valley, with Catherine Falls on the far side. Stop at a tea factory to see the leaf rolled and dried and to taste the brews, then drive down the ghat to Coimbatore. Drive from Coonoor to Coimbatore (about 86 km, 1 hr 45 min), and drop at your hotel, home or the railway station in Coimbatore. The tour ends here.
