Our driver picks you up from your hotel or home in Hubballi in the morning. Drive from Hubballi to Dandeli (about 71 km, 1 hr 30 min). Check in at your hotel in Dandeli. Drive through teak forest to Dandeli. Visit Syntheri Rocks, a 300-foot granite monolith with the Kaneri river rushing at its foot, and the Kavala caves, reached by about 375 steps through the forest, where a natural stone lingam stands in the limestone cave. Coracle ride on the Kali at sunset. Overnight stay in Dandeli.

Ulavi and the drive back
Drive deeper into the forest to Ulavi, where Channabasavanna, nephew of the 12th-century reformer Basavanna, spent his last days; his shrine draws Lingayat pilgrims from across Karnataka. See the Supa dam on the Kali on the way back, then drive to Hubballi. Drive from Dandeli to Hubballi (about 72 km, 1 hr 30 min), and drop at your hotel, home or the railway station in Hubballi. Syntheri Rocks
A towering monolithic pale-limestone rock face nearly 300 feet high, Syntheri Rocks rises sheer above the point where the Kaneri stream cuts through the Dandeli forest. The site is reached by a short walk from the road, offering dramatic views of the rock face and surrounding greenery. It is a popular spot for photography and picnicking, though swimming in the stream is not recommended.

Supa Dam
