Our driver picks you up from your hotel or home in Kurnool in the morning. Drive from Kurnool to Hampi (about 242 km, 4 hrs 45 min). Check in at your hotel in Hosapete. Drive west through Bellary to Hampi. See the Virupaksha temple and its bazaar street, then climb Hemakuta hill for the sunset over the boulders and the river. Overnight stay in Hosapete.

This ancient Shiva temple, also known as the Pampapathi Temple, has been a living place of worship since well before the Vijayanagara Empire was founded. Its nine-tiered eastern gopuram rises about 50 meters and is a landmark of Hampi, with the sanctum housing a linga of Virupaksha. The temple remains active, with daily rituals and festivals, making it a spiritual heart of the ruins.
Hemakuta Hill
Hemakuta Hill is a rocky plateau dotted with dozens of small temples, shrines, and monolithic sculptures, many predating the Vijayanagara Empire. It offers panoramic views over the Virupaksha Temple, Hampi Bazaar, and the Tungabhadra River, making it a popular spot for sunset.
