Kochi and the Konkan train
Today's travel: from Kochi to Ernakulam (about 9 km, 15 min). A free morning for Marine Drive or shopping on MG Road. In the afternoon, transfer to Ernakulam station for the train up the Konkan coast to Goa; the line crosses rivers and runs through tunnels and along the sea for much of the way. In the evening, board the overnight train from Ernakulam to Madgaon.

Arrive in Goa
Arrive in Madgaon in the morning by the overnight train; our driver meets you at the station. Today's drive: from Madgaon to Calangute (about 45 km, 1 hr). Drive from Madgaon station to North Goa and check in near Calangute. Spend the afternoon on Calangute and Baga beaches and the evening at the beach shacks. Overnight stay in Calangute.
