Tour Overview
The Kochi-Muziris Biennale is India's largest show of contemporary art, spread through old warehouses, spice godowns and heritage buildings of Fort Kochi and Mattancherry, with Aspinwall House on the waterfront as its main venue. It takes its name from Muziris, the ancient port up the coast that traded with Rome.
Winter Festival Tour: Festival dates — confirm with the organiser before publishing
Each edition of the Biennale opens in December and runs into the spring, which is also the best time to walk around Fort Kochi: dry, sunny and breezy after the monsoon. It is held every two years, so confirm the dates of the next edition before you travel. Around it, the cafés and galleries of Fort Kochi host talks, film screenings and smaller shows.
