Alampur and Kurnool
Our driver picks you up from your hotel or home in Hyderabad in the morning. Drive from Hyderabad to Alampur (about 214 km, 4 hrs 15 min) and from Alampur to Kurnool (about 28 km, 30 min). Check in at your hotel in Kurnool. Stop at Alampur on the Tungabhadra, just before Kurnool: the Navabrahma temples, nine temples built by the Badami Chalukyas in the 7th and 8th centuries, and the Jogulamba temple, one of the eighteen Maha Shakti Peethas. In Kurnool, see the Konda Reddy fort tower in the evening. Overnight stay in Kurnool.

Belum Caves and back to Hyderabad
Drive to the Belum Caves, the longest known cave system in the plains of India, of which about 1.5 km is open to visitors. The lit path leads down past stalactites and stalagmites to the Patalganga, an underground stream, and through chambers with names like the Thousand Hoods. It is warm and humid inside: wear light clothes and good shoes. Pottery and relics found here show that Jain and Buddhist monks once used the caves. Drive back to Hyderabad afterwards; it is a long day. Drive from Kurnool to Belum Caves (about 107 km, 2 hrs) and from Belum Caves to Hyderabad (about 319 km, 6 hrs 30 min), and drop at your hotel, home or the railway station in Hyderabad.
