Pazhamudircholai
Nestled in the forested foothills of the Western Ghats near Alagar Kovil, this shrine is regarded as one of the six sacred abodes of Lord Murugan. It is closely associated with the deity’s marriage to Valli, and pilgrims travel through wooded hillside terrain to reach the temple, often combining the visit with nearby Alagar Kovil. Pazhamudircholai sits at an elevation of 139 m and is typically explored in about 2-3 hours. The most favourable months to visit are January, December, February, and May, when conditions are best suited for sightseeing. Nearby points of interest include The Alagar Kovil Road, Hilltop Viewpoint, and The Sacred Banyan Tree. Other notable highlights include walk the forest path to the hilltop shrine, offer prayers at the Valli and Murugan sanctum, and spot peacocks near the temple’s sacred tank. It falls within Madurai, Madurai district, and Tamil Nadu, India.
Gandhi Memorial Museum
Housed in the historic Tamukkam Palace, this museum is dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi's life and the Indian independence movement.
