Day 1

Pondicherry to Megamalai

Our driver picks you up from your hotel or home in Pondicherry in the morning. Drive from Puducherry to Megamalai (about 423 km, 8 hrs 30 min). Check in at your hotel in Megamalai. The ghat road climbs from Chinnamanur through forest where elephants and gaur are sometimes seen, so drive up in daylight. Check in and drive across the tea estates to the Highwavys lake and dam, then on to the Maharaja Mettu viewpoint for sunset. There are few shops up here, so carry snacks and water. Overnight stay in Megamalai.

Day 2

Suruli Falls and back to Pondicherry

Take an early walk through the estates while the mist is still on the hills. On the way down, stop at Suruli Falls near Cumbum, a two-tier waterfall with a cave temple nearby, and drive past the vineyards of the Cumbum valley. Drive from Megamalai to Puducherry (about 420 km, 8 hrs 30 min), and drop at your hotel, home or the railway station in Pondicherry. The tour ends here.
