Day 1

Pondicherry to Mysore via Srirangapatna

Our driver picks you up from your hotel or home in Pondicherry in the morning. Drive from Puducherry to Srirangapatna (about 436 km, 8 hrs 45 min) and from Srirangapatna to Mysuru (about 19 km, 30 min). Check in at your hotel in Mysuru. Stop at Srirangapatna on the way for the Ranganathaswamy temple and Tipu Sultan's painted summer palace. Check in at Mysore, and in the evening watch the musical fountain at Brindavan Gardens below the KRS dam. Overnight stay in Mysuru.

Mysore and back to Pondicherry

Visit the Mysore Palace in the morning (on Sundays and festival nights it is lit up from 7 pm), then drive up Chamundi Hill to the Chamundeshwari temple, stopping at the giant Nandi on the way down. See St Philomena's Cathedral before starting home. Drive from Mysuru to Puducherry (about 454 km, 9 hrs), and drop at your hotel, home or the railway station in Pondicherry. The tour ends here.
