Day 1

Arrive in Nagpur

Reach Nagpur by train from Mumbai, where our driver meets you. Check in at your hotel in Nagpur. See Deekshabhoomi, the great stupa where Dr B. R. Ambedkar embraced Buddhism with hundreds of thousands of followers in 1956, and the Dragon Palace temple at Kamptee. In the evening, visit the Poddareshwar Ram temple and the Zero Mile stone, the centre point of British India's survey, and walk by Futala Lake. Overnight stay in Nagpur.

Day 2

Ramtek and Pench

Today's travel: from Nagpur to Ramtek (about 50 km, 1 hr) and from Ramtek to Pench (about 64 km, 1 hr 30 min). Visit the hill temples of Ramtek on the way north, then check in at Pench and go on the afternoon jeep safari in the teak forest of the Jungle Book. Overnight stay in Pench.

Morning safari and the train home
