The road climbs from the foothills to Nainital, a town ringed around a green lake at about 2,000 m. Take a rowing boat or a yacht out on Naini Lake, have darshan at the Naina Devi temple on the north shore, one of the Shakti Peethas, and walk the Mall Road between Mallital and Tallital in the evening. Snow View, Bhimtal and back
Ride the cable car up to Snow View for the line of Himalayan peaks on a clear morning, then drive down to Bhimtal, a larger and quieter lake with an island café, before the drop. Drive from Nainital to Bhimtal (about 23 km, 30 min) and from Bhimtal to Dehradun (about 307 km, 6 hrs), and drop at your hotel, home or the railway station in Dehradun. The tour ends here.
