Chennai to Pondicherry and Christmas Eve
Our driver picks you up from your hotel or home in Chennai in the morning. Drive from Chennai to Puducherry (about 165 km, 3 hrs 15 min). Check in at your hotel in Puducherry. Drive down the East Coast Road past Mahabalipuram to Pondicherry. In the afternoon walk through White Town, past the Aurobindo Ashram and the Manakula Vinayagar temple to the Promenade. Visit the Notre-Dame des Anges church on the seafront, then attend midnight mass at the Sacred Heart Basilica or the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Overnight stay in Puducherry.

Christmas Day, Auroville and back to Chennai
A slow Christmas breakfast in a White Town café, then drive to Auroville for the Matrimandir viewing point and the visitor centre. Lunch in Auroville and drive back home. Drive from Puducherry to Auroville (about 12 km, 15 min) and from Auroville to Chennai (about 162 km, 3 hrs 15 min), and drop at your hotel, home or the railway station in Chennai.
