This temple, located near Pune, is one of the most important shrines in the Ashtavinayak circuit. The idol here has three eyes, and the temple complex is adorned with exquisite carvings and sculptures.

 2. Siddhivinayak Temple – Siddhatek

   Located on a hill near the Bhima River, Siddhatek is the only Ashtavinayak temple where Lord Ganesha is depicted with his trunk turned to the right, symbolizing his more intense and powerful form. Legend has it that Lord Vishnu prayed to Siddhivinayak here to gain the power to defeat demons. This temple is known for its sacred and potent energy, making it a must-visit for devotees.

 3. Ballaleshwar Temple – Pali

   Ballaleshwar Temple in Pali is the only temple named after a devotee of Lord Ganesha, Ballal, who displayed unwavering devotion. Located in the Raigad district, this temple is famous for its unique structure, which allows sunlight to directly illuminate the idol during specific times of the year. The idol here has diamonds embedded in its eyes, adding to the temple’s charm.

 4. Varadvinayak Temple – Mahad

   Varadvinayak, located in Mahad, is believed to be the wish-fulfilling Ganesha. This temple allows devotees to personally touch and worship the idol, which is rare in many Hindu temples. The surroundings are serene, and the temple is especially known for fulfilling wishes and granting blessings of prosperity and success.

 5. Chintamani Temple – Theur

   The Chintamani Temple in Theur is associated with a legend where Ganesha retrieved a powerful jewel called Chintamani for a sage named Kapila. The idol here is known for its calm and peaceful expression, making it a perfect place for introspection. The temple is located close to Pune and is one of the most visited Ashtavinayak sites.

 6. Girijatmaj Temple – Lenyadri

   Located within the Buddhist caves of Lenyadri, Girijatmaj is unique among the Ashtavinayak temples. Devotees must climb over 300 steps to reach the temple, which is built into a rock-cut cave. The temple is dedicated to Ganesha in his form as Girijatmaj, the son of Parvati (also called Girija). The rugged beauty of the caves adds a sense of ancient mystique to the experience.

 7. Vighneshwar Temple – Ozar

   The Vighneshwar Temple at Ozar is dedicated to Ganesha as the remover of obstacles, “Vighnaharta.” Located near Pune, this temple is famed for its beautiful architecture and serene setting along a riverbank. Legend has it that Ganesha vanquished the demon Vighnasur here, giving him the title of Vighnaharta.

 8. Mahaganapati Temple – Ranjangaon

   The last temple in the Ashtavinayak circuit is the Mahaganapati Temple in Ranjangaon, where Ganesha is worshiped in his powerful, twelve-armed form. This temple is associated with Lord Shiva, who is said to have invoked Mahaganapati before engaging in a battle with a demon.
