Barrackpore or Barrackpur is a cantonment town in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. The oldest cantonment of India, Barrackpore was the birthplace of the Indian Rebellion of 1857, and is popular among Kolkata residents for its restaurants serving the Kolkata biryani.
