The nearest airport is Jamnagar, about 137 km away, with limited flights. The closest major international airport is Rajkot (about 190 km) or Ahmedabad (about 450 km), from which you can take a taxi or bus to Dwarka.

Jamnagar Airport (JGA)

Small domestic airport with sporadic flights from Mumbai and other cities. Best for those already in Gujarat.

•No direct public bus from airport; take auto to Jamnagar bus stand

Rajkot Airport (RAJ)

Better connected domestic airport with flights from major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore. Then travel by road to Dwarka.

•State transport and private buses operate from Rajkot to Dwarka
•Taxi fare approx. ₹3,000–4,000 (one-way)

By Train

Dwarka has its own railway station on the Ahmedabad–Okha line, with several daily trains. Direct trains from major cities like Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Delhi are available, making rail a convenient option.

Dwarka Railway Station (DWK)

Well-connected station located about 2 km from the Dwarkadhish Temple. Auto-rickshaws and cycle-rickshaws are available for the short ride.

•Major trains: Saurashtra Express (from Mumbai), Okha–Delhi Express, and Ahmedabad–Okha passenger
•Station has basic amenities: waiting rooms, food stalls, and prepaid auto booth
•Temple is a 10-minute auto ride; walkable for some
•Book tickets in advance during festival seasons (Janmashtami, Diwali)

Okha Railway Station (OKHA)

Okha, about 32 km from Dwarka, is the terminus for some trains and the gateway to Bet Dwarka. You can take a bus or taxi from Okha to Dwarka.

•Trains from Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and other cities terminate at Okha
•Frequent buses and shared taxis connect Okha to Dwarka (45–60 min)
•Okha is also the departure point for Bet Dwarka ferry
•If your train ends here, you can visit Bet Dwarka before heading to Dwarka

Dwarka is well-connected by road to major Gujarat cities and neighboring states. State transport buses, private coaches, and taxis are available, and driving offers scenic views of the Saurashtra peninsula.

By Bus

GSRTC (Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation) operates regular buses from Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Jamnagar, and other cities. Private luxury buses also run overnight services.

•Ahmedabad to Dwarka: ~450 km, 8–10 hours by bus
•Rajkot to Dwarka: ~190 km, 4–5 hours by bus
•GSRTC bus stand is about 1 km from Dwarkadhish Temple
•Overnight sleeper buses from Ahmedabad are available; book on gsrtc.in

By Self-Drive / Taxi

Driving to Dwarka is convenient with well-maintained highways. National Highway 51 (old NH 8E) connects Dwarka to Ahmedabad via Rajkot and Jamnagar.

•Route: Ahmedabad → Rajkot → Jamnagar → Dwarka (NH 47 / NH 51)
•Toll roads and good signage; fuel stations available along the way
•Car rental in Ahmedabad or Rajkot costs approx. ₹2,500–3,500 per day
•Parking near the temple is limited; use designated lots and walk or take an auto

Practical Tips

•The temple flag (dhwaja) is changed multiple times daily; you can witness this ritual from the courtyard.
•Gomti Ghat is the traditional spot for a holy dip before darshan; carry a change of clothes.
•Non-Hindus are allowed inside the Dwarkadhish Temple, but photography is prohibited inside the sanctum.
•Dress modestly and remove footwear before entering the temple premises; shoe storage is available for a small fee.
•The best time to visit is from October to March; avoid the monsoon (June–September) when sea conditions can be rough for Bet Dwarka ferry.
