Overview

Haridwar's core — Har Ki Pauri and the surrounding bazaars — is walkable, and cycle-rickshaws or e-rickshaws cover longer stretches cheaply. Both hilltop temples have their own ropeway (the Mansa Devi Udan Khatola and the Chandi Devi cable car), each a short ride from the base with tickets bought on-site. For Rishikesh (24 km), Rajaji National Park's Chilla gate, or the railway station and bus stand, a pre-booked taxi is the most comfortable option, especially for senior travellers or groups.
