Religious Significance

Kanha is not only a critical tiger habitat but also the last stronghold of the hard-ground barasingha, which was saved from extinction through dedicated conservation. The reserve's success in increasing barasingha numbers from less than 100 to over 800 is a global conservation milestone. History
