January is pleasantly mild and dry, with average highs of 27°C and lows of 15°C, and almost no rain. Clear skies make it ideal for climbing the 863 steps to the temples.

February warms up slightly, with highs around 32°C and lows of 19°C, and remains completely dry. The comfortable mornings and evenings are perfect for exploring the hilltop temples.

March brings noticeable heat, with average highs of 36°C and lows of 22°C, and only 9 mm of rain. Early morning visits are recommended to avoid the midday sun.

April is hot and dry, with highs reaching 39°C and lows of 25°C, and minimal rainfall. The intense heat makes the pilgrimage strenuous, so carry plenty of water.

May is the hottest month, with scorching average highs of 41°C and lows of 27°C, and only 4 mm of rain. This is a challenging time for the climb; heat exhaustion is a risk.

June remains hot and humid, with highs of 38°C and lows of 28°C, but the onset of the monsoon brings 35 mm of rain. Expect occasional showers and slippery steps.

July is the wettest month, receiving a massive 464 mm of rain, with highs dropping to 32°C and lows of 26°C. Heavy downpours and flooding can make travel hazardous, and the temple climb may be closed.

August still sees heavy monsoon rains, with 177 mm of precipitation, and similar temperatures to July (highs 32°C, lows 25°C). The region remains lush but trails are muddy and leeches are possible.

September continues with significant rainfall (175 mm) as the monsoon retreats, with highs of 31°C and lows of 24°C. Humidity is high, and the steps can be slippery.

October experiences a second peak in rainfall with 363 mm, though temperatures are moderate (highs 31°C, lows 23°C). The post-monsoon period brings occasional heavy showers, so pack rain gear.

November is dry and pleasant again, with only 8 mm of rain and highs of 30°C, lows of 19°C. This is a great time to visit, with clear skies and comfortable weather.

December is cool and dry, with average highs of 29°C and lows of 16°C, and no rainfall. Mornings can be chilly, but the sunny days are perfect for the pilgrimage.
