Pamban Bridge Viewpoint
Drive to the old Pamban bridge (road bridge) and see the railway bridge that opens for ships. You can also take a train ride across (if timing permits) or just watch.

- Auto-rickshaws are the primary mode for local travel. Negotiate fares in advance; a full day hire costs around ₹800-₹1000.
- For Dhanushkodi, hire a shared jeep (₹300-₹500 per person) or private jeep (₹2000-₹2500 for the trip). The road is sandy and waterlogged; do not attempt in a regular car.
- Rameshwaram is well-connected by train (Rameshwaram Railway Station) and bus. The nearest airport is Madurai (about 170 km).
- To cross the Pamban bridge, you can take a train (passenger) from Rameshwaram to Pamban for a unique experience.
