Bandipur Itineraries

Day 1

Begin with an early morning jeep safari into the core zone, then ascend to Gopalaswamy Betta for panoramic views. After lunch, head out on the afternoon safari to catch crepuscular wildlife, and end with a quiet evening at your jungle lodge.

Begin with an early morning core-zone safari along the Melukamanahalli range, followed by a relaxed afternoon safari on the Bandipur range. Between safaris, visit the interpretation centre and enjoy a leisurely lunch at your resort.

Day 2

Drive to the summit of Gopalaswamy Betta (1,450 m) for panoramic forest views and visit the ancient Venugopalaswamy temple. Then head to the Moyar Valley viewpoints along the southern edge of the reserve to witness the river gorge and spot wildlife from above.

Day 1

Arrive in Bandipur, settle into your jungle lodge, and take an afternoon jeep safari into the core zone. The safari introduces the dry deciduous forests and their iconic wildlife—elephants, gaurs, and possibly a tiger—while you learn about the reserve's Project Tiger legacy.

Day 2

Rise early for a sunrise drive along the Moyar River gorge, then spend the late morning exploring the Melukamanahalli range on foot with a naturalist. After a relaxed lunch, visit the historic Gopalaswamy Betta temple for panoramic views, and end with a guided nature walk near your lodge.

In the afternoon, take the forest department's jeep safari into the core zone to spot wildlife like elephants, deer, and possibly a tiger. End the day with a nature walk near your accommodation or a quiet evening at the lodge.

Day 2: Morning Safari & Gopalaswamy Betta

Start early with a morning jeep safari for the best chance of seeing tigers and other predators. After breakfast, drive up to Gopalaswamy Betta, the highest point in Bandipur, to visit the ancient temple and enjoy panoramic views. Return for lunch and a relaxed afternoon, with an optional evening safari if you wish.

Day 1

Arrive in Bandipur, settle in, and take an orientation walk. In the afternoon, join your first jeep safari to get acquainted with the reserve's dry deciduous forests and its famed wildlife.

Day 2

Dedicate the day to a morning safari and a guided nature trail, followed by an evening visit to the interpretation centre to learn about Project Tiger's history in Bandipur.
