A revered Hindu pilgrimage site dedicated to Lord Shiva, famous for its long, ornate corridors and 22 sacred wells (theerthams) where devotees bathe. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India and one of the four Char Dham sites. The temple boasts the longest corridor among all Hindu temples, measuring 197 meters in length and 133 meters in width, adorned with 1,212 intricately carved pillars depicting various deities and mythological scenes. The temple complex houses 22 sacred wells, each with water believed to have different healing properties. Devotees bathe in these wells before seeking darshan, believing it washes away sins.

The sacred sea shore directly east of the Ramanathaswamy Temple, where pilgrims take a holy dip in the Bay of Bengal before entering the temple. It is considered the first of the 22 theerthams. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Rama purified himself in these waters after his battle with Ravana. The shoreline witnesses thousands of devotees performing rituals, especially during sunrise and sunset. The calm, shallow waters make it safe for all ages. During Kartik Purnima and other auspicious occasions, special aarti ceremonies are performed here, creating a mesmerizing spiritual atmosphere.

A hauntingly beautiful, abandoned town at the southeastern tip of Rameshwaram, destroyed by the 1964 cyclone. It offers pristine, unspoiled beaches and views of the confluence of the Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean. Once a thriving port town with railway connections to Sri Lanka, it was completely devastated by the cyclone. Today, the skeletal remains of the railway station, church, post office, and residential buildings stand as silent witnesses to nature's power. The beach here is pristine and unspoiled, offering stunning views. According to Hindu mythology, this is the traditional starting point of the Ram Setu (Adam's Bridge). The area is accessible only by jeeps or SUVs due to sandy terrain.

A historic cantilever railway bridge connecting Rameshwaram Island to mainland Tamil Nadu, spanning the Palk Strait. It is India's first sea bridge and offers stunning views of the ocean and passing trains. Built in 1914, the 2.3 km bridge features a unique double-leaf bascule section that can be raised to allow ships to pass through. A parallel road bridge was added later, and recently, a new vertical-lift railway bridge has been constructed. Watching trains cross the sea bridge is a spectacular sight. Visitors can view from the road bridge or take a boat ride for closer views. The area around the bridge includes the Pamban Lighthouse and a bustling fish market.

A calm, shallow beach located about 10 km from Rameshwaram town, known for its gentle waves and safe swimming conditions. It is a popular spot for families and seniors, with shaded groves and clean sands. Unlike many beaches in Tamil Nadu, Ariyaman offers calm waters with gentle waves, making it safe for swimming and wading. The wide sandy shore is lined with casuarina groves providing natural shade, perfect for picnics and relaxation. As the sun sets, the beach transforms into a golden paradise, offering spectacular views that attract photographers and nature lovers. The beach also features a small park and children's play area, making it a complete family destination.

A small, serene temple situated on the seashore near Dhanushkodi, dedicated to Lord Rama. It is believed to be the spot where Vibhishana surrendered to Rama, and it survived the 1964 cyclone. The temple houses beautiful idols of Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, Hanuman, and Vibhishana in a standing posture. The serene location, surrounded by the sea on three sides, creates a peaceful atmosphere perfect for meditation and prayer. The temple is particularly significant for devotees seeking blessings for family harmony and prosperity. It is remarkable for being one of the few structures in the Dhanushkodi area to survive the devastating cyclone.

A small hill located about 3 km from the Ramanathaswamy Temple, offering a panoramic view of Rameshwaram town and the surrounding seas. A climb of about 100 steps leads to a temple platform where Lord Rama's footprint is believed to be imprinted. From the top, visitors get a breathtaking 360-degree view of Rameshwaram town, the temple gopurams, the Bay of Bengal on one side, and the Indian Ocean on the other. The hill is particularly spectacular during sunrise and sunset when the views are most impressive. The climb is moderate and can be completed by people of all fitness levels.

A tribute to India's 'Missile Man' and former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, featuring exhibits showcasing his life, achievements, and vision for the nation. Located at Peikarumbu, the memorial features replicas of missiles developed by DRDO, a photo gallery chronicling his life, and his personal belongings. A bronze statue of Dr. Kalam in a standing pose welcomes visitors, surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens. The memorial also includes a library and a replica of his office at Rashtrapati Bhavan. It serves as an inspiration for millions, especially the youth, to dream big and work hard for the nation's progress.
