A full day in and around Dwarka, starting from your arrival point in the morning. You begin with darshan at the Dwarkadhish Temple in the old town, then drive east to Nageshwar Jyotirlinga. After lunch you head north to Okha for the short ferry across to Bet Dwarka, and on the way back stop at the Rukmini Devi Temple before returning to town. The day is planned around temple timings and the ferry, with the driver handling the roads so you can take it easy.

    Your driver meets you at the station at 9:00 AM. Settle in, keep your bags in the cab, and head to Gomti Ghat for the customary holy dip before darshan at Dwarkadhish Temple.

    Take a holy dip in the Gomti creek here, as is customary before visiting Dwarkadhish Temple. The ghat has steps leading to the water and small shrines around. Allow about 30 minutes for the bath and to dry off.

    Dwarkadhish Temple

    The main temple of Dwarka, standing above the Gomti creek. Do darshan in the morning before the afternoon closing. Keep phones and bags in the cab or locker as the temple has restrictions. Allow about 2 hours for darshan and exploring the temple complex.

    Lunch near Dwarkadhish Temple

    A simple Gujarati thali or light meal near the temple area, then a short rest before the drive east.

    Nageshwar Jyotirlinga

    One of the twelve Jyotirlingas, about 17 km east of Dwarka. The temple has a large Shiva statue at the entrance and is usually open through the day. Darshan takes about an hour.

    Rukmini Devi Temple

    A small, quiet temple on the edge of town, linked to Rukmini. It has fine carving on the outer walls. Visit before the evening closes in. Allow about 30 minutes.

    Shivrajpur Beach

    A Blue Flag certified beach with clean sand and safe waters. Relax here and watch the sunset, which is a lovely end to the day. Allow about 1 hour.
