    Udupi Railway Station

Best time to visit: November to February, when the days are cooler and the sea is calm for the island boat

  • Temples ask for modest dress: full-length trousers or a skirt for women, and no shorts or sleeveless tops

  • The St. Mary's Island boat depends on the sea and tide, so keep the afternoon free for it
